We specialize in the
manufacture and sale of large double wall plastic tanks forchemical storage.
We equip each tank with the
fittings (flanged, threaded or sanitary
tri-clamp) that our customers specify. We
install them where the customer specifies.
Double wall tanks provide
safety in case of hazardous
spills.
We make an extended
range of
double wall chemical
storage tanks.
Most of our tanks of
5,000 gallons and below can be made
from different kinds of
resins including:
High Density Polyethyelene (HDPE), from
Polypropylene and from Polyvinylidene fluoride
(PVDF). The best known brand name for PVDF is
Kynar. The two most common reasons for choosing
a particular resin other than polyethylene are
the need for a higher continuous use temperature
and compatibility with a particular chemical.
You can check the chemical
compatibility
of the chemical you are storing with our tank
resins by

Polyethylene
is the most common choice because it is
compatible with a wide variety of chemicals and
it is the least expensive choice. The primary
limitation of Polyethylene is the upper
continuous use temperature of 130 degrees F.
Some of the most popular storage applications for
polyethylene storage tanks are
diesel exaust fluid tanks,
ethylene glycol storage tanks and
bleach storage tanks.
Polypropylene
is the next most popular selection. It is often
chosen when a continuous use temperature of up
to 200 degrees F. is needed. Polyprolylene is
also compatible with some chemicals that do not
play well with Polyethylene. Polypropylene
is an excellent choice for
Sodium Hydroxide storage tanks.
PVDF
(KYNAR)is a great
resin since in certain applications it has a
continuous use temperature of nearly 300 degrees
F. PVDF has good chemical compatibility. The
limiting factor on PVDF for Double Wall Storage
Tanks is that PVDF is expensive. Consequently,
PVDF is selected only when the storage
application requires the special properties that
PVDF brings. The brand of PVDF we use is Kynar
by Arkema.
